How To Put The Right Amount Of Content In Your Online Course
So you're sitting down to write out your course content and one of two things happens..
1. All the content is flowing from your brain to your Google Doc like absolute magic and you roll with the creative juices to 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 and suddenly you're overcome with the fear that your students are going to be totally overwhelmed by all your content.. 🤯

2. You stare blankly at your screen hesitating to write anything down at all because you don't want to give 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝 value away so you question every sentence with the worry that it's going to cheapen your other services which would completely defeat the purpose of offering a course that leads to your high ticket offer... 🤯
And if you're real lucky, you bounce back and forth between the two...
Sound familiar? 😅
Most of my clients fall into one (or both!) of these camps and 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲.
And it's totally understandable! When you're up to your eyes in expertise it's hard to step out of it and think about a newbie's journey through your content.
There's a simple way to help this! It creates "bowling lane bumpers" to keep you in the right range so you don't get stuck in one camp or another 💃
Here's the strategy: 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲.
When you can put words to this, it serves as an end goal that you're working your content towards. With every additional example or tool or wisdom nugget you want to add, ask yourself "Does this directly help my student get to that transformation?"
✨If the answer is yes, you're good to go!
✨If the answer is no, leave it out.
✨If the answer is maybe, throw it in as a bonus resource!
This is a game changer, my friend!
Do you get stuck in one of these camps? Let me know with a 1 or 2 (or both!) in the comments 🙋
